Vincent has over 13 years experience working with the youth of Ocean Springs. He began as a Summer Camp counselor at the YMCA in 1997. He went on to work at the Ocean Springs Parks & Recreation Department in 1998. He was promoted to Program Director in January of 2001 held that position at the Recreation Department until he resigned in August of 2005 to take the position of Director of Operations here at In The Zone.

Vincent graduated with an Associates of Arts from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in May of 2000. He also attended The University of Southern Mississippi where he sought a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education.  He is a certified childcare director with the State Health Department of Mississippi . Vincent is also a certified CPR, First Aid and AED instructor with the American Red Cross. He is currently certified in Crisis Prevention Invention. He is also a member of Mississippi Recreation and Parks Association, National Recreation and Parks Association, The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce, The Ocean Springs Yacht Club, and Les Pierrots Mardi Gras Association. Vincent is married to Lorra who serves as Director of Administrative Services for In The Zone. Vincent and his family attend and are members of Mosaic Church of Ocean Springs.

Director of Childcare Services, Michael Capers

As Director of Childcare Services, Michael is primarily responsible for planning, managing and implementing all programs for Preschool, After School Camp and Summer Camp. Michael has been with In The Zone full-time since Summer 2010. Prior to joining ITZ he taught in the Biloxi Public School District where he also coached cross country.

Before his time in Biloxi, Michael served as an event coordinator with the Florida Sports Foundation and in a similar position with the Nashville Sports Council & Music City Bowl and was a Graduate Assistant in the Athletic Department at Mississippi State University. He is a graduate of Ocean Springs High School and Mississippi State University where he earned both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education. He is a certified childcare director with the State Health Department of Mississippi. He is a member of the Mississippi Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Michael lives in Ocean Springs where he attends Mosaic Church.

 

 

Director of Administrative Services, Lorra Burke

Lorra is responsible for overseeing the administrative, accounting and human resources for the company. Lorra is a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs and she greduated from Ocean Springs High School in 1995. She is a graduate of USM and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She holds a current Registered Nurse Licensure by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing and has more than ten years of nursing experience. She also remains employed at Ocean Springs Hospital. Lorra obtained her Credentialed Director Certification from the Mississippi Department of Human Services in 2007 and has more than seven years of experience in childcare. Lorra and Vince have been married since 1996 and they reside in Ocean Springs.
